Domestic and foreign "dirty campaigns” in the general elections of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Serbia
Our novel research focused on the mapping and exposure of the so-called “grey zone” media that have been established in the last couple of to influence public debate around key topics in the campaigns before the elections by deliberately hiding the editorial, financial or organizational background of propaganda. The same media proved to be an ideal tool for pro-Kremlin or anti-vaccination forces to disseminate anti-West and anti-establishment messages, conspiracy theories, especially after Russia has launched its invasion against Ukraine in February 2022.
