Chinese Disinformation in Europe, Taiwan and the World - Challenges and Perspectives
A discussion organized by the Institute for National Policy Research (Taiwan) and Political Capital (Hungary)
Date: 9:30-10:45, 28 April 2021
Venue: Zoom Event/Facebook Live
Language: English
The People’s Republic of China is rapidly emerging as one of the main actors on the world’s disinformation sphere. The disinformation tactics used by Beijing are increasingly becoming a challenge for not just the Republic of China (Taiwan), but the European Union, the United States and the rest of the Western community, as well. With the proposed event, we are aiming for providing our audience with a valuable insight into the nature and functioning of pro-Beijing disinformation campaigns, the regional and global significance of tackling Chinese disinformation activities, the impact Chinese campaigns have on Taiwan, Central and Eastern Europe, the EU and the Transatlantic community, as well as possible ways in Taiwan, the CEE region and the Euro-Atlantic alliance to counter Chinese influence operations in the disinformation sphere.
